Birth Date : 25.01.1984

Sara Aerts, brakewoman of the Belgian Bullets, is a former heptathlon athlete who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

She always had a great love for sprint and power. Combine these two and you have a perfect combination to take on a challenge to push a 185kg heavy bobsleigh at the start and at the highest speed possible. The adrenaline during the descent is also pure enjoyment.

She started bobsleigh at the request of former pilote Elfje Willemsen. They know eachother since they are 6-7 years old. Both were members of the same ahtletics club and very ofter were eachother’s opponents during the athletics competitions. After a severe achilles injury during the summer of 2016, resulting in missing the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Brasil, and after yet another question from Elfje, she decided to take the challenge.
