What is Bobsleigh?

Bobsleigh, the sport where one, two or four athletes descend a narrow ice track. Racing against others to set down the fastest downtime. That is bobsleigh in a nutshell.

In this particular winter sport, racers can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h.

Our country has sent athletes to the Olympic Games in bobsleigh between 1924 and 1964, and has won 2 medals so far.

Since 2007 The Belgian Bullets have been present at the IBSF races and at three consecutive Winter Games, Vancouver 2010; Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018. In Pyeongchang we even sent two teams.

What is Skeleton?

This crazy sport where you lie face down, head first on a sled, racing downwards at an average speed of 120 km/hour. Truly crazy, you can ask Lewis Hamilton.

So far, our Skeletoni Kim Meylemans has been the first Belgian Skeletoni to compete at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018, where she finished in 14th place.

BFBS

The Belgian Federation for Bobsleigh and Skeleton tries to encourage the bobsleigh and skeleton sport in Belgium, as one of the small nations we try to gain popularity in our small country.
