What is Bobsleigh?

Bobsleigh, the sport where one, two or four athletes descend a narrow ice track. Racing against others to set down the fastest downtime. That is bobsleigh in a nutshell.

In this spectacular winter sport the topspeed can reach speeds up to 150 km/h.

Our country delivered athletes to the Olympic Games in bobsleigh between 1924 and 1964, during this time Belgium won 2 medals.

Since 2007 The Belgian Bullets have been present at the IBSF races and at three consecutive Winter Games, Vancouver 2010; Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018. In Pyeongchang there were even two teams present.

What is Skeleton?

That crazy sport where you lie on your belly on a sled, with your head to the front and at an average speed of 120 km/hour down. Truly crazy, you can ask Lewis Hamilton.

So far our Skeletoni Kim Meylemans was the first Belgian Skeletoni to compete at the Winter Olympics, the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang where she finished 14th.

The Belgian Federation for Bobsleigh and Skeleton tries to encourage the bobsleigh and skeleton sport in Belgium, as one of the small nations we try to gain popularity in our small country.
