Katrien competed in her very first skeleton race back in 2016, at that point she was still a Track and Field athlete with a speciality in the Triple Jump. Today she is stupying Physical Education and Sport – and Movement Sciences at the Ghent University.
Skeleton, as a high speed sport, gives her an enormous adrenalie boost. From the moment you sprint away from the block it’s just you and your sled.
The combination of strenght and power in the start with the speed and mental chill during the descent is something that she really likes.
